Marked with a million festivities and owned with pride, the day brings together many cultures and languages in a simple ritual filled with joy. To the nation’s 1.4 billion and more, it’s an event of common aspirations and dreams."
Starting Point- Rough concepts
Given the topic of independence day, it’s hard for me to not to take inspiration from traditional miniature and Pahadhi paintings- as they represent an indigenous part of Indian visual style. The intent is to use floral motifs is to represent the celebration of Indian Independence. The intent is to take inspiration from traditional miniature painting motifs and convert it into geometric and modern visuals.
Final Illustration
We use geometric floral motifs with imagery of the Red-Fort in the background. The floor motif ion the foreground showcases children waving flags.
The floral motifs are geometric and stylised- and they visually lead the idea to the central motif of the Red-Fort. Panning down from the fort, the car is at the bottom centre, surrounded by a patch of our national flowers.
